Just bought these (size 11, same as my Saucony kinvaras) - fit is good - my toes have plenty of room up front, and, wow, I am really enjoying them on the techy trails...my pair of hoka's have 'too much' underfoot for my taste; these Montrails have some of the soft forgiveness without a bloated sensation (still have ground feel - a nice soft sensation), with great grip (I have noticed that pounding steeper downhills with the lighter upper can result in a bit of compression in the toes, but not bad) - overall, a big winner for me....
I've been running in these for about 2 months and they are a great "transition" shoe from traditional heavily-cushioned running shoes. I typically run in the Asics 2170s, and also think that Asics makes great running shoe (I've run in Asics 2150, 2160, 2170 for the last 10 years).
